Tips on Grooming Your Schnauzer

Clipping a dog is an art, especially a Schnauzer. Clipping

the coat or nails needs to be carried out in a careful manner to

avoid injuries to the skin or nail. Schnauzers have a different cut

pattern from any other dog. I highly recommend that you take your

Schnauzer to a professional but if you are going to attempt it

yourself it will always grow back if your dog ends up with a bad

haircut.

If the coat is not properly clipped, this may lead to the dust

accumulation in the coat and the animal may start showing signs of

skin diseases. This is true especially when the grooming activities

are not done in a proper manner.

Schnauzers have a specific cut that makes them look like a

Schnauzer. Their face has a very specific look, you can read a book or watch a DVD

to see exactly where to cut around their face. Schnazuer Grooming

Always make sure your clippers are sharp and clean before

each use. Avoid clipping your Schnauzer too close in the winter.

Clipping your Schnauzer closer during the winter seasons may expose

the dog to the environmental stresses like the cold climate. Your

dog may get frostbite depending on what area of the country that you

live in.. Avoid the close clipping of coat or nail because this may

cause injury to the underlying tissues and may cause bleeding in your

dog.

Dog owners should steer clear of any clipping activity when

the dog is not healthy.

Higher quality clipping instruments are available in many pet shops.

Avoid the blunt instruments because they may not clip well and you

will have to keep going over he same area. Always use modern

equipment for your clipping activities.
